Genealogy Page Added

I added a genealogy page tonight. I intend to use this page as a repository of genealogy research information and to outline what is happening in my own genealogy research. I am doing my best to uncover the life of my maternal great-grandparents currently. They had a unique life that I think should be told. They were not rich and they did not leave many documents or photos behind. These are the types of stories that more archives should house, unfortunately, because they did not leave the story behind in documents or oral histories, it is up to researchers to piece their stories together from the scraps we find in official documents and newspapers. Which can be slim to none.

My Great Grandparents

This is my mom’s only photo of her grandparents. I scanned it a few days ago and have not altered it at all. It has been through a lot of moves and was wet at least once. The original and the photo behind it have considerable water damage on the bottom.

Keep your photos and documents as safe as you can so your story can be told as vividly as possible. Do not depend on digitized copies to be your legacy as they are often much more unstable. I hope to dig more into that along the way as well.
